What is a Music Director?

A Music Director (MD) is a voice of leadership on the stage that runs rehearsals, navigates the band through musical transitions, and musically provides the worship leader with clear paths that allow for moments where the congregation can interact freely with God. The MD acts as the bridge between the pastor, worship leader, and the musicians. He or she communicates confidently to the team usually through in-ear monitoring pieces. Here is a video example of a person serving as Music Director, Keyboardist, and Backup Vocalist all at the same time: https://youtu.be/BV-EN_AxKxk
