Temporarily Postponed
Over the past few weeks, we've met with church and community leaders to discuss our plans for regathering in person. While Peel region officially moved into Stage 3 on Friday, August 31, many of the guidelines and restrictions around physical church gatherings remain unchanged (mandatory masking & distancing; no food, fellowship, singing, etc.).
Though we miss gathering in person, the decision was made to delay reopening our building. This means that we will NOT be gathering in September 2020. This decision was made out of abundance of caution and consideration for the safety of our members and community. We also recognize that the church does not exist only in a building and invite you to join us in seeing how God is still working through his people!
Our staff and leaders will continue to meet regularly to reassess the situation. In the meantime, here are a few things that you can continue to do as a part of the Encounter Church family:
Join us online every Sunday for fellowship, service, and small groups
Reach out and host small gatherings with those in your area (max. 50 people)! You can still meet provided that you maintain a physical distance of at least 2 metres with those outside of your immediate household/social circle.
Get involved! We've got a lot of ministry activities happening and we'd love to explore how your gifts/talents can be used in these areas. Send us a note to say you'd like to help, and we'll get you connected with the right people!
It is still our hope and our prayer to gather in person again. As we continue to prepare for that time, feel free to download and read the our reopening plan. We expect that many of the guidelines listed there will apply when we open our building again so it's a good idea to get familiar with it!
